Going into this film i had a little bit of a bad feeling due to the nature of the last Duplass brothers film i had watched Cyrus which was sold to me as a fun slacker comedy with Jonah Hill and John .c. Reilly and ended up being nonsense in the plainest sense. Whereas that was nonsense this was pure magic in the way that the brothers interact and go through the story played by Jason Segel (Jeff) is a 30 year old slacker living in his mothers basement with a unffilled destiny that hasn't come to him yet his brother Ed Helms (Pat) playing his best role to date as his dick brother who is having marital problems with wife Judy Greer (two and a half men) whom is being unfaithful and so a madcap ride begins and ends in dramatic conclusion.
The real winner in this movie is the un-expecting audience due to its unreal storyline made real by the directors , i can't speak highly enough of how the have the brotherly dynamic down to the ground and brings a smile to my face really. Every life is important an does have meaning is you look you it is what i take from this movie and i urge you to watch it and soon as you can.
On a much lighter not i wish to thank the actors Helms and Segel for a rather enjoyable film that nearly made me cry at the end...nearly (by the way i have ignored the other story with Susan Surandon for the main fact i did not get it but still was well acted)
This barlington signing out with a big thumbs up to the Duplass brothers Jeff, Who lives at home! THIS IS NOT ANOTHER CYRUS TRUST ME!!!

A Perfect Getaway (2009) - A Perfectly Good Movie
Hello readers,
I have Watched far to many films this year and has ran out of new films to watch so i did something i like to call a Trail search on IMDB and came up with A perfect getaway! what a delight i came across although to the most engaging of films it was exciting enough to keep my mind focused and provide some escapism so thanks , i didn't watch the trailer just watched it , please don't watch the trailer it spoils the film.
(by the way a trail search is where whatever you watching on Television , go on IMDB pick on the actor from that show or film and search what films he's done and watch it , or if you have seen them all the last film you search pick another actor from that and so on and so forth you find a new film its really cool , my starting point was justified searched Tim Olyphant and came across this pretty easily)
Now this film did fair enough at the box office recouping its money and making some small profit abroad but ll in all not a lot of love from critics and public alike? why? its got big name actors in CHECK , great storyline CHECK , Nudity CHECK and violence CHECK. So why did it not do better i think its a mixture of bad marketing (the trailers completely spoils the film) and everyone who loves Resident Evil hating Milla Jovovich , she's ruined it lol well that's my personal grievance anyway.
The Movie even had a great Director in David Twohy (Pitch Black) and great co-leading Men Steve Zahn playing against type as a Straight actor not telling jokes or anything just being a bit withdrawn and nervous and Tim Olyphant playing the fun loving tourist pretty much against type as he usually plays the tough as nails surly type but he has great comedic timing y the Paul W.S Anderson ! He should have been Chris Redfield and Jensen Ackles as Leon not the bullshit actors you have employed.
The Female leads are pretty much standard and easy to play so no point in going over the performances with a fine tooth comb they were average , we do got see a pre-Thor Chris Hemsworth and he doesn't have play a great mean/psychotic type would love to see him as a bad guy soon.
the Story plods along fine enough buts its a character and location driven movie and the cinematography is sublime and breath taking with a fantastic ending.
So all in all this does have Barlington's seal of Recommendation
8/10
