Hello Guys long time no speak!!
Happythankyoumoreplease
Having only watched this film due to the rating it got at Sundance last year I was going into the film thinking an artsy look on NY life which I have nothing to say about first hand experience because I don’t live there but whenever a film is set there it glorifies it beyond belief in some cases and such as in ' I love NY' or Valentines day' a Rom com which this sort of is in the slightest sense , can become mushy and self indulgent , but this skirts these issues with a real panache and manages to make the film watchable and connecting you with ht character and not feel like an outsider if our don’t live in new York.
The child actor is always a difficult concept to not slip into the annoying child or the unbelievably nice and sweet child whom no one can ever believe would be like that , the acting performance of .. Michael Algieri. as Rasheen is so broken at the beginning and we the audience are sad for him and by the end we are glad for obvious reasons watch the films I don’t want to spoil it , The movie centre not on New York but on real life and a child in need of help in all of the characters whom are all acting like children whom are broken in one way or another the waitress who picks the wrong guy to the Man who wants to move to escape his relationship the movie tackles these issues in a way which makes the audience feel that they can emphasise and really get into the story as with many of these indie movies you cant understand. The movie is not 'big daddy' but it certainly gives you a feeling that it’s the grown up version of it.
The director Josh Radnor his directorial debut has a future if he keeps writing these scripts and directing in this way because this film could open anytime of they year and catch peoples emotions due superb directing and an unbelievably talented cast. Really looking forward to Liberal arts this year.
This certainly does have Barlingtons seal of recommendation!
