Social Network - A Social experiment of an era

I'm not old Ive grown up in this era and have grown up around the Facebook in my teenage years and know that its a big deal but really does this guys Mark Zuckerberg's story really need to be told really?

The story follows as such starting in 2004 , its follows the lie creation and court case that led to the Facebook. The story Follows Mark Zuckerberg  a nerd who creates a social network with his friends and the trails and tribulations that came with the fame and attention and the resulting settlements made to Edrado and the Winklevoss twins.

I have always liked biopic’s, but this is neither here nor there its advertised as a thriller but has the feel of a bad Courtroom drama, and although the performances were good I never really got the intense feel of how they wee screwed because they all ended up billionaires and Olympic medallists and so can you really feel sorry for that. This movie got critical acclaim because of its subject matte rather than acting performances.

We know this because although the screen writer Arron Sorkin got the Oscar no other notable Oscars were given to the cast I found that harsh and wish they had especially Andrew Garfield as I loved hi in Red Riding , he really does have depth as an actor. I am still not bowled over by Jesse Eisenberg as I liked him in Zombieland , but he does remind me as the New Michael Cera and so can only play the one character the neurotic nerd who self deprecates himself and the people around him.

There’s no arguing the direction from David Fincher was Fincher-esc but really does lack a basic urgency and strong conflict because they rarely show an emotion that the situation warrants, this ma be because they know that no matter what they will end up being richer than god! Or that the acting talent was sub standard. Armie Hammer does show a rare talent I’ve only seen as good by Jeremy Irons and that playing the Winklevoss twins and he does that well, but don’t believe them as smart and able to create an idea such as this, he seems to play the stereotypical Harvard students as does Eisenberg and Garfield and I fail to see the draw because of this.

The one shining light of this film was the emergence of JT as Sean parker and going into this I was thinking it’s going to be an absolute farce but he really showed a two-faced and back stabbing manipulative side which I did not think he could pull off.

The film warrants a thought to watch but only a thought because although it got Oscar buzz and won a couple, it disappointed in that awards season and the reason being it was not very good and everyone knows it but its about Facebook ad so everyone knows of it, had this film been centred on a fictional character, it would have BEEN a T.V movie I guarantee it!

This Film does not have Barlingtons seal of recommendation!
